🔎 What exactly is squalane?

Squalane is the stable, oxidation-resistant form of squalene, a skin-derived lipid that occurs naturally in sebum. In cosmetics, squalane is now mostly derived from plants – for example, from olives, sugar cane, or rice bran. It mimics the skin's natural lipid structure and is therefore particularly well absorbed.

Squalane forms a breathable, silky film on the skin, protecting it from moisture loss without clogging pores. It smooths the skin's surface, improves the absorption of other active ingredients, and leaves the skin feeling supple.
